A bill to create tax-free savings accounts for first-time homebuyers in Wisconsin is getting a thumbs up from one local banker. The legislation would allow first-time home shoppers to save up to $50,000 for a down payment. Tim Treml, President and CEO of the Bank of Luxemburg says such tax-free accounts are a win-win for consumers and taxpayers.
Neighboring states with similar home down payment savings accounts include Minnesota and Iowa.
