Big Brothers Big Sisters of Door County mentored one student on Washington Island last year, but their footprint is about to expand. Coordinator Patty O'Rourke says several pairings have just occurred.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Door County tries to create meaningful mentorships for the students involved. The organization looks for "Bigs" that can relate to those they are guiding while complementing their personalities and offsetting risky behaviors or troubles the students may be prone to. The organization now serves every school district in the county.
