National Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday October 26th but Door County residents do not have to wait until then to dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medicine. In Door County, drug drop offs can occur at the Sheriff's Department lobby Monday through Friday during regular business hours, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Deputy Sheriff Pat McCarty points out there are things you should avoid bringing.

The restrictions to the program make Drug Take-Back Day so important. It happens on a weekend when more people are off from work and items that are taboo the rest of the year are accepted. The Door County Sheriff's Department does participate in the event. For 2019, it will happen on October 26th.
