Historian Barb Chisholm traces her Belgian ancestry back to the 1800's and she helps bring that to life in area classrooms. Chisholm visits schools to talk about the Peshtigo fire and the subject of the migration of Belgians to Wisconsin in pre-Civil War America. Chisholm relates the journey in a way that kids today can understand.

The Belgian Heritage Center normally closes except for prearranged tours at the end of October. This year, the center will be open until Thanksgiving weekend due to the unveiling of a new exhibit on November 9th.
