A corn dry down is scheduled Monday from 9 AM to noon at the Door County Co-Op located at Highways 42 and 57 and Y Inn Road. A similar event happened last week in Luxemburg in Kewaunee County with the average moisture in the corn tested at 73.1 percent. Kewaunee County Agriculture Agent Aerica Bjurstrum says that is significantly above levels where harvesting can happen.
Conditions the past week have been far from perfect to see moisture content come down. Under ideal weather, it can drop by a half percent per day which means harvest is still 10-20 days away.
