Despite unseasonably wet weather conditions this fall, area orchard owners are still getting the majority of their apple crop harvested. Steve Wood of Wood Orchards in Egg Harbor and Sturgeon Bay says the apple picking is coming to the home stretch. He estimates that over 75% of apples have been harvested already.
Wood says there were some lost days with rain during the harvest but hopes are to get the remaining apple crop collected before the cold temperatures come in the next few weeks.
