League of Women Voters Door County gets briefed

A full day of presentations last weekend in Madison gave local representatives of the Door County League of Women Voters ideas to bring home and implement.  Shirley Senarighi, along with Pat Scieszinski and Mary Ann Ewig of the Door County League of Women Voters, was among about 170 attendees from around the state at the annual fall issues briefing.  Senarighi shares how one presentation dealt with Maine’s electoral innovations on fixing elections.

Senarighi says other issues discussed included the equal rights amendment, the immigration process, redistricting and the history of African-Americans in Wisconsin from the 1700s and the 1800s.  The League of Women Voters Door County is hosting a game of Jeopardy on the history of the Women’s Rights Movement at Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center in the Sturgeon Bay Room on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
