The Luxemburg-Casco School District is now participating in a not-for-profit charter school program that is connecting students with potential careers. The JEDI Virtual School consortium works with about 14 school districts within the state. The chartering school is designated with the Lake Mills Area School District and all students from elementary through high school graduate with a diploma. Mike Snowberry, Director of Learning Services at Luxemburg-Casco, says over 120 students are placed already, including students from other Kewaunee and Door County schools. He says the career-based curriculum offers many specialized classes that cover many fields of interest.
JEDI has been offering education classes for over 20 years and uses rolling enrollment. Students can utilize traditional semester schedules to block scheduling. The school format provides students with the flexibility to school anytime and virtually anywhere with internet access.
