Vision screenings go high tech

The Egg Harbor Lions Club has teamed up with the Door County Health Department to provide free vision screenings to every child currently enrolled in school, both private and public. Some of those schools can be quite small, maybe as few as 15 students, but others require hundreds of kids to be tested in a day. That necessitates new technology. School Aide Coordinator Sara Neu touts the camera's speed and accuracy.

A picture of the camera during an eye scan can be seen attached to the story at DoorCountyDailyNews.com. All preschoolers, 4K, and kindergartners are screened with the camera. For other grades, the camera is used if a child is unable to read the traditional eye chart.
