The City Administrator in Algoma usually wears multiple hats including acting as its Emergency Management Director. While that position waits to be filled, Mayor Wayne Schmidt has been busy making an interim appointment to the Emergency Management Director post. Treasurer Amber Shallow says Matt Murphy will take over temporarily.

According to Shallow, it was Schmidt who approached Murphy about the responsibility. A new city administrator is expected to be on the job by January.
