Mapping out the effects of the property tax extension

All Door County municipalities have granted an extension for property taxes this summer. Typically, the second payment is due on July 31st, with the deadline set at October 1st for 2020. The additional time now means that payments are condensed next period with only a little over two months between the new date and when 2021 bills begin arriving in December. Interest begins accumulating at the rate of 1.5 percent per month if the first installment is late.
