Kewaunee Library temporarily closes due to COVID

Patrons of the Kewaunee Public Library will have to wait until Monday before they can check out materials again due to possible COVID-19 exposure. Library staff was notified of the possible exposure late Wednesday afternoon. The library will be closed for the rest of the weekend beginning on Thursday so the building can get a thorough cleaning. Library director Carol Petrina says going back to curbside pick-up for the next week is what is best to protect staff and visitors.

Curbside pick-up will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday while library staff decides how to move forward. Petrina added some good news for book lovers on the waitlist for materials. Based on newly released studies, the recommended quarantine time for books returned to the library has been reduced from 96 hours to 24 hours, meaning patrons will be able to get their items quicker if they have been waiting for it.
