Door County prepared for election night

Even with record-breaking absentee voting taking place, Door County Clerk Jill Lau is hopeful residents will not have to wait long for results. Lau says they are well over 50 percent of the anticipated turnout for Tuesday’s election just with absentee ballots alone. Clerks at some municipalities have already designated some of its election day workers to begin processing ballots shortly after the polls open at Tuesday at 7 a.m. Even if a few issues arise, Lau is confident her clerks and their poll workers will still be able to complete their jobs in a reasonable time.

Lau says absentee voting at many Door County municipalities concluded on Thursday while others will be done on Friday. If you haven’t voted already, the polls will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
