Local realtors are experiencing a busy fall despite the real estate market reportedly slowing last month with pending home sales nationally declining 2.2 percent in September. According to the National Association of Realtors, pending home sales still rose over twenty percent from a year ago. Ame Grail from Shorewest Realtors Door County Realty says the Door Peninsula is still a seller’s market.
Grail adds that properties are selling across a wide spectrum of prices, but homes in the $300,000 neighborhood are selling fast. She notes that recently a $425,000 property sold within only a few days of listing it. Multiple offers on real estate are very common. September’s pending home sales increase showed the fifth consecutive month of gains and the fourth year-over-year since COVID-19’s impact on the housing market.
