You will have to leave Sturgeon Bay city limits to see all of the manufacturing opportunities available in Door County. During Friday’s Door County Manufacturing Expo, close to a dozen different businesses from Ellison Bay to Sturgeon Bay will be showing off their facilities as visitors witness fish processing, CNC machining, medical device manufacturing, and more. It serves as the kick off for a month-long slate of activities to celebrate National Manufacturing Day and Wisconsin Manufacturing Month. With over 140 manufacturers in the area, Door County Economic Development Corporation Director of Business Development Julie Schmelzer says it is important for residents and visitors to see all of the opportunities available to them in the peninsula and not just in Sturgeon Bay.
The Door County Economic Development Corporation is planning other activities throughout the month to salute area manufacturers and get others interested in the available careers. You can click on this link to learn more about the manufacturing tours that will be available.
