Sturgeon Bay planning for 2022 street replacement

As the City of Sturgeon Bay is in the process of formulating the budget for 2022, City Engineer Chad Shefchik says his goal is to get about two and one-half to three miles of road replacement completed each year.  Every street would get repaired 25 to 30 years at that pace, a recommendation set down by the Street Ad Hoc Committee in 2017.  Shefchik explains that budgeting does not center around specific streets because factors can change quickly.

Shefchik notes that the last scheduled street project for the year on South Neenah Avenue is getting the finishing touches this week.  He coordinates with other utility entities like WPS, Sturgeon Bay Utilities, and AT & T for possible infrastructure changes that can be done in advance and during the street reconstruction.
