Wisconsin saw the number of counties with critically-high COVID-19 activity levels jump from 8 to 21 on Wednesday, including Kewaunee County. It came has the seven-day average for new confirmed cases ticked up six to 2,532, but it is still below the high watermark of 2,932 it reached on September 20th. Thirteen counties including Kewaunee County saw their case activity level get elevated from very high to critically, which means case burden is above 1,000 per 100,000 residents over the last two weeks. Fifty-one counties, including Door and nearby Brown and Manitowoc counties, remain at the very high activity level. Door County will give its second report of the week on Thursday and Kewaunee County will follow suit on Friday. Both counties have given information on how those immunocompromised or above the age of 65 can sign up for their booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
