You can still find some tickets available for this weekend’s Door County Fall Lighthouse Festival occurring across the peninsula. Tours of the lakeshore’s lighthouses, Death’s Door, and Plum Island are still available as of Thursday morning including some other opportunities not usually available at any other time during the year. The companion event of the Spring Lighthouse Festival has only grown in popularity in the years since it was first introduced less than a decade ago. Door County Maritime Museum Deputy Director Sam Perlman says some of its travelers are happy for any view of the area they can get during the fall.
Just like you were able to during the spring, you can also dip below the county line to visit the pierhead lighthouses in Algoma and Kewaunee as well as the Grassy Island Range Lights in Green Bay. You can click this link to learn more about the tours and to buy tickets.
