In recent weeks, the Omicron variant has caused the Centers for Disease Control to change quarantine and isolation times, alter who is eligible for vaccine boosters, and suggest different masks to be used. Door County Public Health Officer Sue Powers says the science around the pandemic is always changing, leaving many people confused about best practices to stay healthy.

Powers encourages people to get vaccinated and follow the proper mitigation strategies to stay safe. She also hopes people stay patient as hospitals and testing sites are overwhelmed.
