Kewaunee's STEAM club a hit with students and families

At the district’s family dance night earlier this month, the Kewaunee STEAM Club put on a fair to show off all of the projects they had been working on. STEAM is a reasonably new concept and includes education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. This club has not been in existence at Kewaunee for very long. One of the club coaches, Rebecca Krueger, explains how it first started.

This fair had 37 students involved with grades ranging from 5th to 11th grade. The presentations represented 18 different topics under the STEAM umbrella. Krueger says that because the family dance night occurred simultaneously, many parents and community members got to see all of the projects the students had been working on. As for the future, the club is growing every year and will most likely be something held for students far into the future.
