This Memorial Day, the community gathered to witness the dedication of two new pedestrian bridges that cross Big Creek. This dedication was made by Sturgeon Bay Mayor David Ward, and he also presented a $100,000 check from the 1923 Fund to the Crossroads to support the bridge replacement. This project helps support the Crossroads mission to restore the ecological environment of Big Creek. At the event, crossroads staff and volunteers set off to lead the community members on a hike over the newly redone North Bridge, along the banks of the creek and then back over the Cedar Crossing Bridge. Both of these refurbished bridges will be available for public use, and offer a view of the Crossroads’ other wetland restoration projects.
