The automotive and travel club AAA expects 54.5 million people to travel for the holiday, which is about 1.5 percent over last year and 98 percent of pre-pandemic levels. While Americans have changed many of their habits due to inflation, Austin Straubel Airport in Green Bay proves that leisure travel has not been affected too much. They have seen a 17 percent increase in traffic this year, and Airport Director Marty Piette does not see that slowing down.

While Austin Straubel Airport has made several improvements and is well-staffed to handle the increase in traffic volume, Piette still advises travelers to pack their patience and everything they need to make their trips go as smoothly as possible.
