Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle hit a utility pole on the 200 block of North 18th Avenue causing it to snap in half and forcing traffic to be detoured. The Sturgeon Bay Police and fire department blocked traffic from the Michigan Street intersection to Kentucky Street, as Sturgeon Bay Utilities was contacted to deal with the broken utility pole that was suspended about 12 feet over the street.
