With the world’s population aging at a fast rate, addressing mental health has never been more important. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 14 percent of adults aged 60 and over live with a mental disorder, with loneliness and social isolation becoming the key risk factors for them. It is becoming even more prevalent as it is estimated that one in six people will be 60 years or over by 2030. Senior Life Solutions Program Director Jennalee Lundquist says identifying mental health issues and knowing how to address them are key things for caregivers to understand.
