An 80-year-old man from British Columbia, Canada, died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in the city of Sturgeon Bay.
The Sturgeon Bay Police and Fire departments and Door County Emergency Services responded to the crash shortly after 1:30 p.m. on State Highway 42/57 between Michigan and Alabama streets.
According to a release from the Sturgeon Bay Police Department, the man crossed the centerline while traveling northbound and struck an oncoming vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman.
Both drivers were taken to a Green Bay hospital for treatment. The Canadian man later died from his injuries, while the woman has since been released.
The Sturgeon Bay Police Department continues to investigate the crash. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.
