A 23-year-old Sturgeon Bay man received two citations and was taken to the hospital following a moped crash early Saturday morning. The crash occurred on Duluth Avenue near Duluth Place at 1:10 a.m. According to the accident report, the man was traveling south on Duluth Avenue when he lost control of the moped and struck landscaping rocks and a utility pole support wire. The moped then skidded across a driveway and struck more landscaping rocks before coming to a stop. The man told a deputy he has a Romanian motorcycle driver’s license but did not have it with him at the time. He was taken to Door County Medical Center for treatment of suspected serious injuries. The man was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence and failure to keep a vehicle under control.
