4-H youth and volunteer enrollment now open

If your kids are looking to get involved in their community, local organizations like 4-H would like to hear from you. Sept. 2 marked the official start of enrollment for 4-H, with hundreds of youth choosing clubs to join and projects to explore.

In Kewaunee County, some of the new offerings include a veterinary science project, a livestock judging club, an arts club, a creative writing project, and a junior leaders association. 4-H Youth Educator Erin Dahle says 4-H has grown beyond what is done in the barn and helps youth find their spark.

Current members and volunteers have until Nov. 1 to re-enroll, while new families have until Feb. 1. 4-H is not the only youth organization in recruitment mode. Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes is holding membership recruitment events at Lambeau Field on Sept. 12 and 13, in addition to other events at Green Bay-area schools and libraries. Individual units of Scouting America and Girl Scouts of the USA may also schedule their own recruitment events at area schools.
