You will have to watch out for more than just law enforcement vehicles on the road this weekend. Door County is one of five counties that will receive aerial enforcement by the Wisconsin State Patrol this weekend and the only one that will be targeted twice.
State Highway 57 will receive extra attention from the Wisconsin State Patrol on Friday and Sunday. Aerial enforcement is one of the ways the Wisconsin State Patrol tries to enhance public safety efforts since it is easier to spot drivers who are speeding or driving aggressively from the air. If a pilot spots a violation, the pilot will contact officers on the ground to pull over the offending driver.
Eau Claire, Washburn, Columbia, and Waupaca counties will also receive aerial enforcement.
