New Escarpment information in Ellison Bay

The outdoor Museum that has come to be called Escarpment Park in Ellison Bay (11876 Highway 42, Ellison Bay), will dedicate four new educational panels on Sunday, beginning at 1pm.

GEO-DC President Nancy Goss said there will be a short presentation and official unveiling of the panels. Very detailed information handouts will be available for those who visit between 1-3pm.

These panels are the first of 6 that the GEO-DC members have completed, with the help of grant money from the Door County Community Investment Fund. The purpose of these panels is to provide educational information for all to learn about the geological feature that is the Niagara Escarpment. One of these first panels details the impact of the historical Menominee tribes, which Nancy Goss, president of GEO-DC, said was the most challenging, yet satisfying aspect of completing these panels.
