About 90 minutes separated two motorcycle crashes on County Highway U in the town of Clay Banks on Saturday.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., a 47-year-old Oshkosh man was traveling north near Sand Lane when he went off the roadway while attempting to negotiate a curve. He told a responding deputy he was unable to maintain control of his motorcycle as he entered the curve. He was taken to Door County Medical Center for treatment of a serious injury.
In the second crash, a 31-year-old Menasha man was also traveling north on County Highway U, this time about a half-mile from County Highway J. Similar to the first crash, the man told a responding deputy he approached a curve, braked too late, and entered the ditch. He was also taken to Door County Medical Center for suspected minor injuries.
Both men were wearing helmets and other protective clothing. Neither was cited in connection with the crashes.
