Two injured in Ellison Bay crash; driver cited for failure to yield

A 39-year-old Ellison Bay man was cited for failure to yield the right of way following a two-vehicle crash in the town of Liberty Grove on Oct. 15.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Old Stage Road and State Highway 57 shortly before 1:45 p.m. The Ellison Bay man and his passenger, a 40-year-old Ellison Bay woman, were attempting to cross Highway 57 in a pickup truck when they collided with a southbound sedan driven by an 80-year-old Ellison Bay man.

The pickup truck driver told the responding deputy that he did not see the sedan because it was traveling behind another vehicle pulling a camper.

The pickup truck driver and his passenger were uninjured. However, the sedan driver and his passenger, an 81-year-old Ellison Bay woman, suffered suspected injuries that did not require hospitalization. The sedan had to be towed due to disabling damage.
