Algoma announces Beacon Award winners

Categories: Local News

The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) ‘Beacon Awards’ were announced Monday afternoon, adding notable community members and business owners to an esteemed group dating back to at least 1998.

These annual awards aim to recognize key individuals, businesses, and organizations who serve as a “source of light and inspiration for the community”, according to Chamber Executive Director Bradley Kautenburg.

Award winners will be recognized as a guest of the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting, scheduled for Monday, November 9, at The Grain Loft in Algoma.

Kautenburg talked about a couple of the stand out award winners, one being Annette Schisel, owner of Intention Boutique - Algoma, who's brought new energy to the City.

The Keeper of Tomorrow's Light award is one Kautenburg is especially fond of, he talks about the necessity of acknowledging younger community members' efforts.
