Explorations of place, identity and memory through water, are the focus of the November exhibition at The Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay.
As part of its ongoing invitational 12x12 Project, the Miller announced Ciel Skål as the November featured artist. This series spotlights contemporary artists from Wisconsin and the greater Midwest.
Skål's works will be on view November 2-30; the public is invited to celebrate the exhibition with an Artist Talk and reception, featuring a conversation between Skål and Curator of Exhibitions and Collections Suzanne Rose on Saturday, November 7, at 4pm.
Born in the Pacific Northwest in 1994, Skål is now a Wisconsin-based multidisciplinary artist exploring identity, memory, grief, and the meaning of home. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Art History and Arts Management from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, and began pursuing an MFA in Interdisciplinary Research at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2026, integrating studio practice with pigment research and water studies.
