What if George Bailey ran down Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay instead of Genesee Street in Bedford Falls? Third Avenue PlayWorks is not going quite that far, but they are giving the story a local feel as the cast of It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Door County prepares to begin rehearsals next month.
Adapted by Neil Brookshire, It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Door County gives the 1940s radio play classic a new spin, with some Door County businesses starring in some of the commercial reads.
Artistic Director Jacob Janssen says TAP has performed It's a Wonderful Life many times in the radio play format, and the cast is definitely in the holiday spirit as they prepare for the show's December opening.
Tickets are on sale now, with the production opening for a pay-what-you-will preview Dec. 2 and running through Dec. 27. TAP will also host a post-show conversation Dec. 11 following its 2 p.m. matinee. You can listen to our full preview of the show here.
