Even as the United Way of Door County's Techquity program comes to an end, its impact will last for years to come. Thanks to a grant from Techquity WI, United Way of Door County and the Door County Economic Development Corp. partnered to provide free, long-term laptop loans and digital navigation assistance to eligible Wisconsin residents.
Hundreds of laptops were distributed as part of the program, helping people better connect to their schoolwork, health records, job applications and more. United Way of Door County Executive Director Amy Kohnle says they heard amazing stories about how the program was changing lives.
Kohnle adds that volunteers are distributing the final laptops this week as they work through the program's waiting list.
United Way of Door County has reached approximately 27% of its $1.25 million annual campaign goal. To support the campaign, the organization will host its annual Door County Jeep Run on Nov. 7. You can learn more about the event at this link.
