Time to roll clocks back Sunday

Categories: Local News

After putting the Halloween candy away, remember to turn your clocks back one hour this Sunday as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end. With this extra hour of sleep comes  earlier sunsets and later sunrises until the solstice on December 21.

While proponents of Daylight Saving Time say it saves energy and makes better use of daylight, the National Fire Protection Association reminds you to use the time change as a reminder to test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke alarms with non-replaceable batteries are designed to last up to 10 years, but others should get a fresh battery annually.

Daylight Saving Time will resume on March 14, 2027.
