The Door County Highway Department is reminding motorists that the Bayview Bridge (Highway 42/57) will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, November 2–4, 2026, to allow contractors to complete time-sensitive maintenance work.
The closure on Tuesday coincides with Election Day, and the DCHD is encouraging motorists to follow posted detour signs, allow a little extra time for travel, and use caution near the construction area.
The maintenance work is necessary to address critical infrastructure needs and must be completed within the scheduled timeframe. A posted detour will direct motorists around the bridge closure.
