Holiday magic grows in Door County Christmas Movie Trail's second year

More stops and new swag are part of the second edition of Door County’s newest holiday tradition: the Door County Christmas Movie Trail. Organized by Destination Door County, approximately 20 locations are included on this year’s trail, including places featured in the movie “A Cherry Pie Christmas” and others that were not featured but still played a role in its production.

Participants can check in at each location using their phones and earn prizes, including an ornament and a cheese grater, along the way. Those who shop and visit participating locations also have a chance to win Destination Door County gift certificates.

The Trail was relaunched Sunday following last year’s success, which attracted more than 3,000 participants from 35 states and generated more than $36,000 in trackable sales between Nov. 1 and Jan. 5.

Destination Door County Director of Media Relations Jen Rogers is excited about the additional opportunities for visitors and residents to explore the peninsula while following in the footsteps of their favorite “A Cherry Pie Christmas” characters.

If you cannot get free tickets to Destination Door County’s screening of “A Cherry Pie Christmas,” the movie is available on YouTube, Tubi, and Roku, and will be available on Netflix beginning Nov. 19.
