Breaking news…

Just after noon today deputies from the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 54 and Walhain Road in the town of Luxemburg.

During the initial investigation, officers determined that a mini van traveling eastbound on Highway 54 went into the westbound lane and collided with a cargo truck that was traveling westbound on Highway 54.

The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the cargo truck was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Kewaunee County was assisted by the Luxemburg Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Luxemburg Fire and Rescue, and Luxemburg-Casco First Responders.

The names of those involved are not being released at this time to allow for family notifications, and possible further investigation.
