Door County Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Lori Allen is hopeful its newest partner family will be home before Christmas as volunteers put the final touches on Home No. 51. The home is the newest addition to the Sister Bay neighborhood on Ava Hope Trail, where previous collaborations between Door County Habitat for Humanity and the Door County Housing Partnership have been built. Volunteers recently installed new siding and prepared the interior for painting. Allen says the home is just the latest in the organization's efforts to develop affordable housing opportunities in Door County.
While Home No. 51 is nearing completion, Allen says the organization is actively looking for land in the Sturgeon Bay and Southern Door areas for Home No. 52 and beyond. In addition to its home repair projects, Door County Habitat for Humanity is also preparing for its Christmas benefit concert Dec. 3 featuring STEEM. You can find more details about the show here.
