Kewaunee County officials set to approve 2027 budget, consider land donation Tuesday

The Kewaunee County Board of Supervisors has two major items on its agenda when it meets Tuesday at the Kewaunee County Administration Building in Kewaunee. The board is set to approve the 2027 budget, which includes an 8-cent drop in the county property tax rate from $4.28 to $4.20 per $1,000 of equalized property value. Since the introduction of the 2024 county budget, the county's tax rate has dropped 85 cents per $1,000 of equalized value. The Kewaunee County Board will also consider an offer from the Algoma Hunting and Fishing Club to donate 1 acre of land that would be added to the county's Bruemmerville Park. Board Chairperson Dan Olson says the opportunity came up because the club is folding.

The property, which sits adjacent to county-owned land, includes a building previously used as meeting space and a single-stall garage. The Kewaunee County Board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers.
