Edward T. Jones

Edward T. Jones, 70, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Feb. 2, 2020. He was born Feb. 3, 1949,
in Berlin, Wisconsin to Arthur and Lauretta (Tesch) Jones. On April 26, 1969 he married
Catherine A. Conlon at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. She preceded him in death
on Feb. 28, 2008.
Ed graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1967 and then attended Michigan Tech where
studied engineering. After marrying Cathy in 1969, he joined his father in the automotive
business. For 12 years, he and his father operated Jones Chrysler-Plymouth in Sturgeon Bay
and Green Bay, and Jones Dodge in Algoma.
In the 1980’s, Ed transitioned into the aftermarket automotive product business. For several
years he was vice-president of Petrolon and later established NuTech Engineering International
with several other associates, a company which sold automotive products around the world.
Ed was a long time and dedicated member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He had a strong
passion for music and enjoyed directing the church choir for many years. He also enjoyed
traveling in his RV, following the Packers, his dogs, and especially loved the time he spent with
his family. Ed had a very mechanical mind and was always interested in anything that had to do
with cars.
On July 7, 2012, he married Diane Dusendschon at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She survives as
do his 3 children, Tim (Gina) Jones, Sturgeon Bay; John (Lindsay) Jones, Parkland, FL; and
Jennifer Jones, Lake Mary, FL; 5 grandchildren, Mackenzie, Levi, Liam, Miles, and Oliver; sister
Judy (Terrance) O’Grady, Green Bay, WI; brother-in-law Terry (Becky) Conlon, Sturgeon Bay;
aunt Jean Walker, Sturgeon Bay; 2 step-daughters, Lisa Jacobe, Sturgeon Bay; and Laura (Terry)
Willems, Brussels; 7 step-grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Amanda, Kendal, Jordan, Brianna, and
Devon; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Isiah and Joey; other sister-in-law, Andrea Bakalar. He was
preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and an infant sister Susan.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
in Sturgeon Bay with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on
Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements. Special thanks to Unity Hospice and the doctors and staff at Door County
Medical Center for the wonderful care and support.
