Martin D. Schram

Martin Donald Schram, 59, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Door County Medical Center on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

     He was born July 4, 1960 to Martin “Gene” and the late Betty (Krueger) Schram in Sturgeon Bay. Martin graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. He received an associate degree in Police Science from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. After college, Marty enlisted in the Army. He was stationed at Johnston Island in the Pacific as a MP. Upon his return home, Marty was employed as a deputy with the Door County Sheriff Department. He completed his work career at Fincantieri Bay Ship.

     Marty was an avid sports fan. In his younger years, he loved playing baseball and basketball. A great deal of his time was spent watching sports, especially football.

     He is survived by his father, Martin “Gene” Schram; sisters, Pam DeMelle and June Schram; brother-in-law, Dean Gigot, and sister-in-law, Nancy Schram; nieces and nephews, Yvette (Mike) Tice, Kelly Gerl, Kyle DeMelle, and Brandon (Sara) Gigot; and great nieces and nephews.

     He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Schram; brother, Harold Schram; and sister, Mary Gigot.

     Due to Covid 19 pandemic, private family services will be held at Huehns Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Sauer officiating. Burial will be in Schumacher Cemetery.
