Lawrence "Larry" Dachelet

Lawrence "Larry" Dachelet, 64, Algoma, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Door County Medical Center.  He was born November 5, 1956 in Algoma to Marvin and Shirley (Maedke) Dachelet.

Larry was a graduate of the Algoma High School.

Larry married Dawn Bergemann December 10, 1977 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma.

Larry was a good man.  He was kindhearted and loving.  He was goofy when he thought you needed a laugh, loving and steady when you needed a friend.  Larry was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.  He adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  Being a Grandpa was the pride of his heart.  He loved the outdoors and could often be spotted just cruising around town.   Larry lived a good life, enjoyed the simple things, and required so little to be happy.  The last few years of his life were trying, but he pushed on, always optimistic and grateful.  When most of us would have given up, he kept on with a full heart and a smile.    Larry will be loved and remembered as one of the greats of our lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn, son Ryan (Jackie) Dachelet and daughter Heather Dachelet  (boyfriend Craig); two grandsons Aiden and Ethan and Craig's children Sophie and Ian; siblings Margo Rouse, Marcia (Toby) Swoboda, Lee (Linda) Dachelet,  Randy (Roxy) Dachelet, and Shireen Dachelet (Joe Schmidt).   Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Ruthann Dachelet.

There will be a private family service at the funeral home, Wednesday, January 6, 2021.  Burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

The SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME was entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
