Obituaries

Heidi K. Richard

Heidi Kristine Richard, 51, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at home on Jan. 28, 2021.  She was born Dec. 27, 1969, in Green Bay to Aldon and Janice Strei.  On Sept. 11, 1993, she married Michael Keith Richard in Green Bay.

After high school, Heidi attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she received a degree in communications.  She then realized her true passion was teaching and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education.  For her entire teaching career, she was an elementary teacher for the Sturgeon Bay School District.

Heidi was passionate about education and loved teaching her students to love reading.  She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed the time she spent travelling and fishing with family.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; two children, Jack and Megan Richard; her parents, Aldon and Janice Strei, Green Bay; brother, Paul Strei, Green Bay; parents-in-law, Keith and Margaret Richard, Saxon, WI; in-laws, Shelly Crawley, Black River Falls, WI; Connie and Eric Todd, International Falls, MN.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tom Crawley.

A public visitation will be held at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.  A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Knapp officiating.  Face masks are required by all in attendance.  Online condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com
