Edward J. Price

Edward John Price, 75 of Brussels, passed away at his home on February 11, 2021 due to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.  He was born April 5, 1945, in Red Springs Township to James and Ardis (Quinney) Price Jr.  He was a member of the first class to graduate from Southern Door High School in 1963. On August 21, 1965, he married Carol J. Balza at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brussels.

 

Eddie worked for Proctor and Gamble for many years. He also owned and operated Price Right Berries, a strawberry Farm in Namur and Price’s Country Inn, a bar in Brussels.

 

Eddie loved spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and a few beers with many friends.  Eddie was proud of the many tasty berries grown throughout the years.  He and Carol traveled after retirement, taking bus trips near and far.  Eddie was a member of the Stockbridge Munsee Indian Tribe and was very proud of his Indian heritage.

 

He is survived by his wife Carol; two children, Michael (Becky) Price, New Franken; Deb (Dennis Flavion) Price, New Franken; six grandchildren, Courtney (Jeff Lautenbach) Weidner, Austin (Kaelyn) Weidner, Brooke Price, Lindsey Price, Claire Price, Elizabeth Price; four great-grandchildren, Kairi Mazanet, Madelyn, Phoenix, and Selma Lautenbach; one sister Shirley Turpin, one brother Dan Price; in-laws, Sandra Price, Mary and Mark Tlachac, Nancy Hunsader, Cheryl and Stan Sanger; nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Melissa Weidner; brother Bill Price; sister Alice Swanson; in-laws, Pam Price and Bob Hunsader; parents-in-law Clara and Elmer Balza.

 

Public visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.  Face masks are required. Private family services will be held at St. Francis & St. Mary Parish in Brussels with Rev. Edward Looney officiating.  The service will be live streamed on Father Edward Looney’s Facebook Live Page at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021.  Burial will be at St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery.  On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com
