Joyce M. Klaubauf

Joyce Marie Klaubauf, 91, passed away on February 28, 2021, at Algoma Long Term Care Unit.  She was born on September 4, 1929, in Kewaunee to George and Mayme (Kulhanek) Koenig.  Joyce graduated from Algoma High School, Class of “47”and Door-Kewaunee County Normal.  She taught school at Woodside School in Kewanee County. 

 

On June 2, 1951, she married Roger Wagner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Algoma. They had two sons, Michael and Mark.  Roger died March 12, 1966.  On June 28, 1968, she married Richard Klaubauf at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood.  He preceded her in death on July 1, 2006.  She helped raise his family of six children.  Joyce was a member at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood and was also a member of the Christian Mothers and the Altar Society.

 

Survivors include two sons, Mike (Dawn) Wagner, Green Bay; Mark (Mary Kay) Wagner, Brussels; stepchildren, Dan (Marci) Klaubauf, Sturgeon Bay; Tony (Janet) Klaubauf, Denmark; Mark (Christine) Klaubauf, Kaukauna; Bill Klaubauf, Sturgeon Bay; Susie (Bill) Bodilly, Green Bay; step-daughter-in-law, Brenda Klaubauf; sister-in-law, LeVerle Koenig, Algoma; 19- grandchildren and 20- great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers, Allen and Paul Koenig; stepson, Steve Klaubauf; great granddaughter, Addison.

 

Private funeral services will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Maplewood.   Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.   The funeral service will be live on Forbes Funeral Home Facebook page at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021.  Memorials may be made to Holy Name of Mary Church Food Pantry.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Special thanks to the staff at Algoma Long Term Care Unit for their wonderful care and support and also to Joyce’s friends and neighbors who “looked after” her these past few years.
