Wallace Draves

Wallace Paul Louis Draves, 81, Forestville, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Bellin Hospital after a short illness.  He was born November 7, 1939 in Algoma to Walter and Ruth (Serrahn) Draves.

Wally graduated from the Algoma High School and then entered the Marines and serviced for three years.  After his honorable discharge he started working in commercial refrigeration for a few different companies, before opening his own company called Northland Refrigeration in 1985.  After he retired he drove a tour bus for a short time.

Wally taught a Hunter Safety Course for about 10 years, was an avid hunter including deer, elk and prairie dogs out west. He also was an avid gun collector and eventually donated some of the guns to the Bill Cody Museum out west and then sold the rest of his collection to a gun collector down south.  He enjoyed just driving around the countryside.

Wally is survived by his special friend Edna Hoffman, his three children Jill (Ken) Kirsch, Green Bay; Joe (Lisa) Draves, DePere and Jane (Rick) Bauer, Naperville, IL; grandchildren Alexander and Abigail Draves and George and Charlie Bauer; brother Ken (Karen) Draves, Algoma; niece Karrie (John) LeBotte, Algoma and nephew Kevin Draves, Algoma;  great nephews Jason (Selena) LeBotte, Matthew LeBotte and Kordell Draves; and the mother of his children Kathy Draves.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Public visitation will be held, Monday, March 22, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peter Mannoja officiating at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma.  Burial at the Forestville Town Cemetery, Maplewood.
