Janie Mohney

Janie Marie Mohney, age 57 of Casco, WI (formerly of Quincy, MI) passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 20, 2021.

Born in Kalamazoo, MI on April 21, 1963 to Perry J. and Joyce Martin. She married her high school sweetheart, Mark Anthony Mohney on May 23, 1981 and together they raised their three daughters Missie, Megan and Sarah. Family was her first priority. She put all her efforts into caring for them. Janie enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and had a passion for fundraising and charity work. Before moving to Wisconsin, she spent some time as the Coldwater Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1907, Women’s Axillary President. It was her joy to help others. 

Janie’s greatest treasure in life were her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Bonnie Abrams (Bruce) of Lawrence, MI; Husband of nearly 40 years, Mark Mohney, of Casco, WI; Daughters, Missie (Tim) Pearson of Quincy, MI; Megan (Matt) Word of Camden, MI; Sarah (Chris) Kelley of Union City; and 8 grandchildren Taylin Pearson, Kaden Pearson, Blake Burkhart, Noah Pearson, Ethan Pearson, Emmalyn Pearson, Chloe Word and Weston Word; and special grand-puppies Odysseus and Ginger.

Janie is Preceded in death by her Father, Mother and sister, Rhonda Spangler.

Visitation will take place at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home – Casco, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Friday, March 26, 2021. Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be practiced, and facemasks are required to be worn. Online condolence messages may be shared at www.wiesnermassart.com. In addition to the Friday visitation in Casco, there will also be a memorial service held at a later date in Michigan.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made, in memoriam, to the Casco Fire Department.
