Norbert W. Lenius, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday April 10, 2021 after reaching the age of 87 years old. He died peacefully within his home with his wife Pat, children DeeDee and Phil, and son-in-law Todd Brauer by his side.
Norb was born on Nov. 19, 1933 in his parents’ home on Maple Street in Sturgeon Bay (Sawyer). As a young man, Norb was known for his quiet intellect, skills at many sports and his thoughtful yet competitive nature.
Norb earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He served in the Army and ROTC. In 1956, Norb married Patricia Ann Weber in Sturgeon Bay. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in Feb. 2021.
Norb was a mechanical Engineer and employed by R.A. Stern and Marine Travelift for many years. He was known as a man to never run out of graph paper. Norb volunteered for organizations too long to list.
Sporting activities were an important part of his life. Norb was very competitive and contributed to many team championships for basketball, baseball and soft ball. He also spent a lot of time playing ping pong, skating, snow and water skiing. Music was another important part of his life. Going to concerts, listening to music, singing, and eating chocolate chip cookies brought him much joy.
Living on the water, he spent a lot of time fishing and boating in the upper great lakes. Rock Island and Fayette being some of his favorite places to spend time. Norbie was a quiet man who always did the right thing.
He is survived by loving wife, Pat Lenius; children, Diane (DeeDee) Brauer (Todd Brauer) of Sturgeon Bay and Philip Lenius (Claudia Menton) of Commerce Twp, MI; two grandchildren, Devon Storlie of Madison, WI and Eric Storlie of Pasadena, CA; and sister-in-law Charolotte Lenius of Sturgeon Bay.
He is preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Ethel Lenius, sister Evelyn Lenius, and brother Dale Lenius.
